Whether your living room is small and poky or large an airy, you have to admit that flowers always brighten the place up. They make an enclosed space seem lighter and larger somehow. It is no coincidence that show homes always decorate with flowers. Some artificial flowers can look extremely cheap and tacky because dust has a tendency to settle on them and they can fade over time. They tend to age quickly in sunlight. There are types of artificial flowers that have been treated to prevent this, but they are more expensive. There are also dried flowers available that do not fade as fast. They are effectively preserved and used for baskets and arrangements.
Flowers like the hydrangea are extremely effective when dried. They last for up to three years, but roses and similar flowers can be placed in a permanent decoration because they last indefinitely. They are more expensive that artificial flowers but give a more authentic look and feel to an arrangement
Arranging artificial flowers is an art form. You can actually learn it at night school and it can be an extremely rewarding outlet for your creative energies. You can create some beautiful arrangements for birthdays, weddings, parties and decorating your home without paying the excess fee that a professional arranger would charge. You could even do arrangements for your friends with a view to making it a business. If not, it makes an interesting hobby and really brightens up your house!
