painted flower potsBrighten Up Your Living Room: Painted Flower Pots

If you are struggling for money, it can be hard to do anything you want to do to brighten up your life. That includes the decoration of your home. Even if your lounge is in dire need of a facelift, it is more important to eat than to tailor your home to your wants. However, there are little things you can do to brighten up your living room, or even make a few dollars to make life that little bit easier. Painted flower pots are great for both purposes. You can purchase clay flower pots at discount stores, garden centres or crafts fairs for next to nothing. They usually come in multi-packs, which are cheaper than buying them separately. You may also find them at garage sales, in which case you can negotiate the price yourself. They also come in various shapes and sizes, so choose the ones that would look the best in your living room. Once you have purchased your pots, you are ready to begin work on your painted flower pots.

The pots should always be cleaned before you begin work on them. You can use a hose or wash them up as you would normal pots. Most are dishwasher-proof, believe it or not! Any excess dirt would affect the paint. Once completely dry, they can be subjected to your creative inspiration. You can also use any type of paint on them. It may be worth trawling round discount, art and general stores to see where you can the best deal. Spray paints often work best for a base coat, or exterior paint if you plan to use them outdoors. You can then experiment with various colors and patterns for your painted flower pots. Always glaze them afterwards before displaying them to keep the colors bright and protect the pot. They can then add a personal touch to any room.

Painted flower pots can also provide a temporary solution to financial problems. By selling them at craft fairs or in garage sales, they can bring in a few dollars that you would otherwise never have had. Painted flower pots are popular at fundraisers too. Beautiful painted flower pots are sought after amongst those who do love to decorate their homes with bright, unique items. Not only will you have fun making them and expel your creative energy, you can earn some money from a hobby!
